iiSBE Website Update Now Live with Ongoing Content Expansion

The International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE) has introduced a fully revamped version of its website, reflecting a significant update to its digital platform and online resources.

The site is now structured to improve navigation and accessibility, making it easier to explore iiSBE’s activities, research, and global initiatives. Content is being actively expanded and updated on an ongoing basis, with new materials added regularly to reflect the organisation’s evolving work and international collaborations.

Key areas include the Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) Conference Series, sustainability assessment tools such as SBTool, and a growing collection of resources supporting researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in sustainable construction and urban development.

Recent activity includes a webinar held on 21 May, focused on applying the IPCC risk concept - Hazard, Exposure, and Vulnerability - through the Resilient Built Environment (RBE) Assessment System at building (RBTool) and neighbourhood (RNTool) scales. The session introduced the tools, their practical implementation, and iiSBE’s ongoing work program for broader global application. It was presented by Andrea Moro, iiSBE Global Vice-President and iiSBE Italia President, and Greg Foliente, iiSBE Global President and Board Chair. A recording is available to members.

The revamp also places a strong focus on membership, which remains central to iiSBE’s global network. iiSBE offers membership options for individuals, organisations, universities, and students, providing access to the international iiSBE network, SBTool and related sustainability assessment resources, discounted registration for conferences and events, and opportunities for collaboration, professional engagement, and knowledge exchange. University Membership additionally provides a cost-effective institutional option covering multiple faculty members under one membership with unlimited discounted student memberships, enabling broad participation while reducing costs. Learn more about membership here: https://www.iisbe.org/membership

Together, these membership pathways support engagement across academic, professional, and institutional contexts, strengthening iiSBE’s global community and advancing its mission to promote sustainable built environment practice worldwide.
