YRSB13 - iiSBE Forum of Young Researchers in Sustainable Building 2013

Mission

Bringing young researchers in sustainable building together to share research outcomes, discuss and get feedback from their colleagues.

Introduction

The iiSBE Academic and Research forum decided that every year a PhD conference will be organized focusing on actual research development in the field of sustainable building. The first event will take place next year in Prague, prior to CESB13 conference in June. Please find the preliminary information below and follow the progress of preparations at www.iisbe.org/yrsb.

  • Sustainable refurbishment
    Refurbishment of existing buildings, sensitive regeneration of cultural and industrial heritage
    • Sustainable spatial planning
      Planning of land use, urban areas, regions, infrastructure and social-economic aspects

      Life cycle sustainability assessment of buildings
      LCA of materials and buildings, data sources, regional specifics
      Call for papers

      Low-tech and high-tech solutions for buildings
      Use and production of renewable, recycled and secondary materials, high-performance materials
      Building design and operation
      Integrated design process and optimization tools, energy efficient buildings, indoor environment

    A Scientific Committee will review one-page structured abstracts. Full papers will be peer-reviewed by the participants themselves by topics. Abstracts will be included in the book of abstracts and full papers will be available in PDF for download at YRSB13 website.
    Format of the event
    The Forum will start with the keynote speakers a day prior to CESB13 conference (25 June 2013). The rest will be filled with presentations of young researchers (12 mins + discussion). The participants will have a free access to CESB13 opening and key notes next day.
    Organization and contact
    The YRSB13 is organized by Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, under auspices of iiSBE A&R Forum. The Chair of Organizing Committee is Julie Hodková (julie.hodkova@fsv.cvut.cz). Scientific committee members will be members of iiSBE A&R Forum and other invited experts.
